Nora Finch — Founding Editor

Hi, I'm Nora.

Nora Finch is the editorial pen name behind Small Plate Club. The "we" you read across the site is real — Small Plate Club is a small editorial team — but the byline lives here, with one person making the calls on what gets recommended, what gets cut, and how every article reads.

I write under a pen name because I'd rather you trust the process than the personality. The work is what's accountable.

What I do here

I run editorial: research, drafting, sourcing, and the final read on every product recommendation. Before anything goes live, I check the protein numbers myself, read the studies cited, and pull every Amazon link through the affiliate tracker we disclose on every page.

If a product doesn't make sense for someone eating 800–1,200 calories on a GLP-1, it doesn't get recommended. If a side-effect remedy isn't supported by a primary source we can cite, it doesn't get a paragraph. The standard isn't "could this work" — it's "would I tell my sister to buy this."

What I write about

  • Protein density for shrunken appetites — what to actually buy when you can finish 4 ounces of food at a sitting
  • Side-effect specifics — sulfur burps, constipation, GERD, electrolyte loss, food aversion, muscle preservation
  • Product comparisons grounded in the GLP-1 use case (small portions, slow digestion, food aversion), not generic fitness criteria
  • The day-to-day of small-plate eating — what actually fits in your stomach, what your body actually needs, what the research actually says

What I'm not

I'm not a doctor, a registered dietitian, or a medical provider. Nothing on Small Plate Club is medical advice. Every article points you back to your prescriber for the medical questions. What I am is a careful researcher and a working editor with a high bar for what makes the page.

For the editorial methodology — how products get tested, how reviewers are vetted, when affiliate links earn revenue and how that doesn't influence picks — see How We Pick.
